Warmly celebrate the successful conclusion of the 3rd International Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Technology Conference!

From June 25 to 26, 2019, the 3rd International Conference on Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Technology was grandly held in Huishan, Wuxi. The conference was jointly initiated by the Management Committee of the Wuxi Huishan Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province, the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Harbin Institute of Technology, and the University of West Coast Poland/National Adhesive Center of the University of West Coast Poland, and was organized by the Wuxi New Materials Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology.
From June 25 to 26, 2019, the 3rd International Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Technology Conference was grandly held in Huishan, Wuxi. The conference was jointly initiated by the Management Committee of the Wuxi Huishan Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province, the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Harbin Institute of Technology, and the University of West Coast Poland/the National Adhesive Center of the University of West Coast Poland, and was organized by the Wuxi New Materials Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology. With the primary theme of “actively introducing new ideas and concepts,” the conference provided an efficient and professional platform for learning and development, fostering win-win cooperation and innovative exchanges within the pressure-sensitive adhesive industry, and fully promoting green, environmentally friendly, and sustainable healthy development in the field of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The leaders attending this meeting include Cao Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Huishan District Committee of Wuxi and Director of the Huishan Economic Development Zone Management Committee; Jiang Xiaozhong, Director of the Huishan District Science and Technology Bureau of Wuxi; and Tang Xiaoqing, Deputy Director of the Huishan Industrial Transformation and Agglomeration Zone Management Committee of Wuxi. The meeting also specially invited more than 30 industry experts, including Yan Deyue, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Zbigniew Czech (Cai Te), Director of the National Adhesive Center at the University of West Coast in Poland; Wu Xiaohong, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Harbin Institute of Technology; Zhou Yongfeng, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and Wang Yuechuan, Professor at the School of Polymer Science and Engineering of Sichuan University, to provide guidance and insights. The meeting attracted nearly 80 domestic and international companies involved in the production and application of pressure-sensitive adhesives, with over 150 guests in attendance.
The meeting focused on the synthesis, modification, processing, and industrial applications of new pressure-sensitive adhesives. Sixteen experts presented, from multiple angles and at various levels, the latest research and development achievements as well as application results in the field of pressure-sensitive adhesive technology, sparking significant attention and discussion within the industry.
This year’s Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Technology Conference has sparked a vibrant exchange and innovation in pressure-sensitive adhesive R&D ideas, facilitated the sharing and integration of the latest advancements in pressure-sensitive adhesive technologies, and driven the deepening and development of pressure-sensitive adhesive applications. This conference has set the stage for China’s pressure-sensitive adhesive technology to reach the international arena and propelled the development of new materials to a new level!

The polarity of pressure-sensitive adhesive molecules not only enhances the intermolecular interaction forces at the adhesive interface and improves the interfacial adhesion conditions, thereby increasing the work of adhesion at the interface. It also alters the mechanical and rheological properties of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer—for example, by boosting cohesive strength and elastic modulus, and improving resistance to peel-off and bulk viscosity. All these factors influence the 180° peel strength and other adhesive performance characteristics of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
